A Journey of Creativity and Communication
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2022, and currently, I work as a digital marketing account manager. My love for communication and creativity goes hand in hand, as I believe that visual storytelling has the power to captivate and connect people in profound ways.

As a true North Carolinian, born and raised, I draw inspiration from the rich landscapes and diverse people that surround me. But my creative pursuits don't stop at photography. I have a burning passion for all things artistic, from cake decorating and drawing to painting and beyond. Embracing various creative outlets allows me to bring a fresh perspective and unique artistic vision to my photography.

Around three years ago, I embarked on a captivating journey into the world of photography, and I've never looked back. While specializing in portrait photography, I'm always eager to explore new horizons and try my hand at different genres. Each photo session is an opportunity for me to push boundaries, challenge myself, and capture the essence of the moment. So, feel free to throw some shoot ideas at me and we can make something happen!
Kopfkino: The Essence of Imagination
"Kopfkino" isn't your average word. In fact, it's not even an English word! Originally, I named my business something simple, "MK's Photography" but I just wasn't content with it. In my quest for something unique and fun, I stumbled upon this wonderful word on Pinterest. Originating from German, "Kopfkino" translates to "head cinema" or "cinema in the mind." This term perfectly encapsulates the imaginative journey that unfolds when we view a photograph. It's like watching a movie that comes to life in our minds. Not only that but, I'm sure we all imagine what our shoot is going to be like before it happens. We picture exactly how the shoots going to go, what the photographer is going to do, and how the pictures are going to turn out. So, I decided that Kopfkino was a perfect way to sum things up!
German Heritage and Dreams of Discovery
The decision to embrace the name Kopfkino goes beyond its catchy sound. It holds personal significance for me. My late grandma was German, and ever since I was young, I've been fascinated by her heritage. I've always dreamed of visiting Germany to immerse myself in the culture and learn more about my roots. Choosing a German-inspired name for my photography business is a way to honor my family history and embark on a visual adventure.
Endless Opportunities, Creative Freedom, and Lasting Memories
Photography is a medium that offers endless opportunities for creativity, individual interpretation, and capturing moments that become cherished memories. For me, it's about more than just taking pictures; it's about making people happy, freezing time, and allowing those precious moments to be remembered forever. None of us are here forever, one day pictures will be all that we have left to revisit some of our happiest memories. I want to make sure you have plenty to look back on.
